A true story, in a Welsh mining village a tragedy occurred when the mine collapsed and four miners were imprisoned underground. Huddled together, they knew they had limited time before they would run out of oxygen.

Only one of them had a watch. When one hour had passed, instead of telling this to the other three, he said that only thirty minutes had passed. When the second hour passed, he told them that another 30 minutes had passed. Only the miner with th swatch knew they were close to running out of oxygen.

When the rescuers finally got to them, the miner with the watch had died. The other three were alive. Only then did they discover how much time had really passed and that their oxygen supply had run out.
